What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible (Old & New Testaments) as the inerrant Word of God and are devoted to correctly handling the Word of Truth.  The “Holy Scriptures” contained in the Bible alone is our final authority in all matters of Christian faith and orthodoxy (Prv 30:5-6, Ps 18:30, 2 Tim 3:16-17, Heb 4:12).

God

We believe in only one God, which is the God of the Holy Bible. As declared by scripture, God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent (1 Cor 8:5-6; Isa 40:28, Heb 4:13, Job 42:2, Dan 4:35, Mk 10:27, Ps 139:7-10).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified to provide redemption from sin, rose from the dead in a glorified body, ascended to heaven, and is coming again in a visible return to Earth. He was before creation and all things were created through him and by him. He is the center of all scripture (Jn 1:1-3, 14, 3:16, 1 Cor 15, Col 1:15-17).

The Triune God

We believe that in God exist three equally divine persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Though three distinct persons, they are one their divinity and nature (Gen 1:26, 11:5-9, Col 2:9, 1 Pt 1:1-2, 1 Jn 5:6-8).

Sin and the Fall of Man

We believe in the total depravity of all mankind. Our sin nature came as a result of the fall to sin of our first parents (i.e. Adam & Eve) in the Garden of Eden. All have fallen away to sin and deserve the righteous judgment of such sin by a Holy God. None are righteous before Him (Gen 3, Rom 3:9-31, 5:12, 6:23, 1 Cor 15:21-22).

Salvation

We believe that salvation from the destructive consequences of sin that has infected all of humanity comes by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. His atonement for sins on the cross and justification of the righteous in his resurrection is the only means by which salvation from sin and eternal death is possible. It is the duty and privilege of all people to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other name given under heaven by which men can be saved.  (Prv 20:9, Isa 64:6, John 3:16-18, Acts 4:12, Rom 10:9-10, Eph 2:8-9)

The Church

We believe that Christian ministry is a divinely appointed means for spreading the Gospel of Salvation throughout the world and that it is the duty and privilege of all Christians according to God-gifted ability to contribute to its support (Mt 28:19-20, 1 Cor 12:1-11).
